Dan Petrone has been a committed follower of Christ for over 20 years, yet his first encounter with Christ was at 6 years old through a neighborhood friend. Raised by his father in a loving, yet unbelieving home environment, Mr. Petrone wrestled with the world, as he succeeded as a high school student, athlete (football & wrestling), and drama. He attended Orange Coast Jr. College, played football, and eventually transferred to Columbia University, an Ivy League College in New York, New York. God kept blessings and His hand of protection over Mr. Petrone, providing Christian influences through other families, friends, teachers, and coaches, throughout high school and college.
Today, Mr. Petrone has been a high school history teacher for 23 years, and has been studying and teaching the Bible to mostly high school age students and athletes in youth ministries for 20 years.
He has a blended family with his wife Denise that includes 6 sons, 2 daughters, & a nephew. Mr. Petrone loves spending time with his family, especially road trips with his wife, summer beach days, playing video games, & training martial arts with his older sons.
As a teacher, Mr. Petrone purposes to provide students with an extensive study of history, making it interesting and easy to learn by connecting history to relevant life lessons and current events. He develops his classes to be as low stress as possible, with his "Open Make-Up Policy", open note quizzes, and straightforward study-guides that help students prepare for tests.
Matthew 22:36 Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
