Course Description

MATH 7
The Math 7 course is the first middle school math class that lays the foundation for success in high school math courses. Students will focus extensively on concepts such as integers, decimals, exponents, factors, fractions, ratios and proportions. In addition, this class will introduce students to expressions and equations which are the cornerstone to Algebra. This course will provide a firm foundation for the rigors of pre-Algebra and other high school math courses. Each week in class, Mrs. Larsen will answer homework questions, teach new concepts, and provide review of foundational skills. Students will also understand how important math is to their academic success and also to their future careers!
Students will be required to complete regular homework assignments, tests, and a final to succeed in this course. Parent involvement is only required to monitor their students at home as they do their homework and take tests.
Mrs. Larsen will provide all instruction, test grading, and overall semester grades for this course.  Through games, class projects, hands-on crafts, and other enrichment tools, your student will be motivated to work hard and succeed.  Mrs. Larsen will engage all kinds of learners including visual learners, audio learners, tactile learners, analytic, and social learners.  Together as a class we will make math come alive!
