Sweet and Savory Cooking
If you can’t decide whether you want to whip up a dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth or cook something savory for those salty cravings, this class is perfect for you! The Sweet and Savory Cuisine class will introduce students to an array of recipes from both the dessert and savory kitchen. Students will create one sweet dish and one savory dish each week, including original recipes as well as popular restaurant favorites. We will also learn about healthy alternatives for favorite recipes and encourage not only delicious, but healthy cooking along the way. This class is for aspiring Chefs that want to learn both the savory and sweet aspect of cooking. Students will learn to develop family-friendly recipes that they will want to re-create for their own family. Students will be able to broaden their skills in cooking and baking techniques. Students will also learn about the origins of each recipe and how to tweak their recipes to suit their own tastes, preferences and dietary needs. Best of all, students will dine on their own creations in each class. This class will also strive to equip students with the confidence and skills needed to be self-sufficient in the kitchen, which translates to essential life skills!
