The objective of this course is to prepare students with a strong mathematics foundation to succeed in college prep Algebra 1 at the high school level. This Pre-Algebra course will cover all the following concepts: patterns, integer operations, equation solving, factoring, fractions, multi-step equations, Ratios, right triangles, graphing, probability, polynomials, and functions. Students will also understand how important math is to their future in school and their careers!
Students will be required to complete regular homework assignments, tests, and a final to succeed in this course.
Parent involvement only requires checking homework and monitoring tests at home.
Mrs. Strickler will provide all instruction, free weekly tutoring, homework help, test grading, and semester grades for this course. We will make math come alive! Through games, class projects, and hands-on activities, your student will be motivated to work hard and succeed, engaging all kinds of learners. I never want to be bored, so I won't let your student be bored either!! We will even have a Pi Day celebration with an art project and a Pi scavenger hunt!!
Tuition: $508 and $10 supply fee per semester. This includes 2 90-minute classes per week and free tutoring after school at the ILA campus and at a local coffee shop nearly every week.
Charter School: I am a vendor with Excel, Ilead, and Inspire. I have A-G approval for Algebra 1 and Geometry. Charters list me under my business name, iMath.
Materials: McDougall-Littel Course 3 textbook, copyright 2007. This curriculum is pre-Common Core. You can purchase this on Amazon, used, and you can choose a book from ANY state, it just must be copyrighted 2007. It has a green cover with baseball players on it.
