Jr. Economist – Grades: 3-6
This is an introductory class to the concept of money and economy and their uses in our society. This class is an activity-based class, with weekly activities to engage students to learn economic concepts primarily from the Money MunchKids curriculum and other kid-friendly sources. Language arts (reading money-related books/articles) and math (money calculations and word problems) activities and projects will be regular part of the class. At the end of the class, students will be knowledgeable about:
o History and role of money – coins and paper
o Income, expenses
o Banking: Checking and savings account functions
o Debit and credit cards
o Budgeting
o Key Concepts of Demand and Supply
o Stock investment
o Taxes
• Tuition: $220 per semester
• $50 Non-Refundable deposit will be applied toward Student Workbook and materials fee
