Join us as we come into the modern times of the last 150-200 year with Modern Age Art History from Creative Creatures & Co., using ‘Story of the World: Modern Age’ as our guide. For 32 weeks we will look at major historical events that took place from 1850 until our current times and discover the artists and artisans involved in the reign of Queen Victoria, ned kelly’s western ways, the industrial revolution, the gilded age of the Americas, the 7 year war and take you through the major world wars in the first part of the 20th century ending with the fall of the Berlin wall. We will see how artists responded to these world events as well as look at how technology was changing the world into what we know it today. We will work with an array of mediums from metals, paints, fiber design, paper engineering and much more. You won’t want to miss this rich in art modern history class!
TUITION: $240 Please see note on material expected EACH class.

Since our time in class is only 1 hour a week and we don't give homework we really encourage our families to purchase the SOTW book and read or have your student read the chapters we are learning about (Curriculums with chapters will be sent out before the semester starts). If you wish to follow along with us this year, I highly recommend the Story of the World book: Volume IV: Modern by Susan Wise Bauer. I also recommend the activity book, it is such a great book filled with recipes, map work, craft projects, stories and questions relating to the Modern Times and is a great way to dive into the history outside of our class!
