Course Description

Dive into new understandings of the world around you in Algebra 2 ! This course will build on your experiences in previous math classes, but also expand to applying new concepts outside the classroom. Such concepts are as follows: Equations and Inequalities, Rational Functions, Absolute values, Quadratics, Conics, Systems, Polynomials, Exponential and Logarithms, Sequences and Series, Matrices, Trigonometry, Probability and Statistics.

Algebra makes the seemingly complex goings-on in our lives solvable with more simple methods, from calculating the distance a plane must travel to reach its destination, to understanding why animal populations rise and fall. Students will have a full mental toolkit to tackle these challenges after taking this course.

Students will be required to complete regular homework assignments, tests, and a final to succeed in this course. Parent involvement only requires monitoring homework and tests at home. Mrs. Akhavan will provide all instruction, homework help, test grading, and semester grades for this course. We will make math come alive! Through games, class projects, and other enrichment, your student will be motivated to work hard and succeed, engaging all kinds of learners.
