CrossFit is a youth physical development course designed to enhance your child's 10 general physical skills which include: balance, agility, coordination, accuracy, flexibility, speed, strength, power, stamina, and endurance. This is done through practice and repetition. Activities like jump rope, running, pushing, pulling, throwing, and kicking will help your young adult to continue to physically develop and most importantly be fun. We believe that it is crucial that our students learn the benefits of keeping their bodies physically strong and healthy.
Through games, activities, and the workout of the day (WOD) your child will learn to work with and support others. We have all heard it's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game. We take this very serious. Playing the game in a manner where others want to play with you is the lessons we will teach and the environment we will foster.
For some kids. like me, PE was my favorite part of school. It allowed me to use the energy my teachers wanted me to harness while in the classroom. For others, PE can be dreadful and anxiety provoking. This is the beauty of our program. Our structure and focus allows for an inclusive environment where effort and individual accomplishments are celebrated. Everyone can succeed as they learn to face their fears, support others, and put in their best effort.
With this age group students will be introduced to the proper technique of various weight lifting exercises.
We will use obstacles to teach about overcoming challenges. Some of our obstacles include: balance beam, hurdles, vault, low crawl, wall (2-5 ft high), lateral agility, sleds, battle ropes, and ring swing. Each week students will be introduced to one or two obstacles. We will host an event (to be determined) where students enrolled in the course can come run the entire obstacle course to celebrate their persistent hard work.
