There is one live on-line session every week from 4-5p for me to connect with students, provide an overview for the week, discuss biblical themes & current events, and answer questions live. There will typically be one daily assignment Monday-Friday, usually a pre-recorded power-point lecture with detailed notes, that should be used to take the lecture quiz simultaneously. Other assignments may include watching history documentary videos and taking detailed notes, or a history related activity. Normal daily assignments will take 30-60 minutes depending on the length of the lecture, video, or activity. There is usually at least one study day provided before a test, and sometimes the whole weekend. Tests will be announced, and study-guides will be posted in advance, for those who want to prepare early. I have an "Open Make-Up Policy", which means there is no penalty for a late assignment or test. This gives students and families built in flexibility for illnesses, family emergencies, athletic & extra-curricular events, etc. that would make meeting a deadline extremely challenging. However, ALL assignments & tests must be completed by the last day of the semester, unless there is a serious illness or family emergency, and a special request is made.
Other Information
This course will cover all the California standards for US History, but is NOT eligible for charter funding, since there will be an emphasis on analyzing American history from a Biblical world view and Biblical Christian principles.
