Course Description

Intro Psychology (AP Prep)

This course provides a context and understanding of Psychology from a Christian perspective.  Psychology focuses on individual behavior and why an individual thinks, feels, and reacts to certain stimuli. Major emphasis will be placed on research methods, stages of life from childhood through adulthood, how the brain works, altered states of consciousness, including stages of sleep, psychological testing, psychological disorders, and treatments.  Introductory Psychology is a college-level course that prepares the student to take the AP Psychology Exam.  This course encourages analytical thinking, critical thinking, college-level reading, and writing skills.  Demonstrations and hands-on learning make this course a very unique and rewarding experience.
