Course Description

This class is a fun and engaging introduction to the Spanish language for grades 3-5. Students will learn the alphabet, colors, numbers, the calendar, classroom items, animal names, family words, greetings, grammar, Latin-American and Spanish geography (and more!) utilizing flash cards, games, and puzzles. We'll practice listening to, writing, reading and speaking Spanish together while building each other up in confidence.  We'll also explore the vibrant world of Hispanic culture and  tradition,  including the legend of the poinsettia, Las Posadas, and pinata making. And  we'll try authentic Latin food, like a Three Kings Day Rosca bread! We'll be using Teach Them Spanish! and Skills for Success Spanish Elementary by Carson-Dellosa publishing.

This is a year-long class.

A $20 material fee for the year is due at the beginning of the Fall Semester.
