Course Description

Lessons cover most of the IEW models of structure and elements of style at a very basic level. Students write poems, stories, reports, critiques, essays, and a mini research paper. Longer papers are broken into parts so that typically students write only one or two paragraphs per week.
Vocabulary cards are included. Students will learn and be required to use the vocabulary words in their writing.
Themes focus on Ancient civilizations: Sumer, Egypt, Israel, Babylon, Greece, and Rome.
Optional literature suggestions will enhance students' understanding of ancient times as well as provide them with examples of excellent style in writing.
Important Note: The material fee pays for the textbook, which I provide. Please go to my website, loriverstegenwriting.com, and fill out my registration form. Mail it to me with the $35 material fee. (There is no other registration fee.) Instructions are on my website under the REGISTRATION tab.
Note: Because this class has Christian content, I cannot accept charter funds.
