Course Description

This year long class is eligible for high school credit.  Students will work toward gaining proficiency in speaking, listening, reading and writing in Spanish.  These skills will be developed through entertaining dialogues, vocabulary games, hands-on-projects, dictation and grammar exercises.  Students will also be using some online Spanish websites to enhance their learning and study the geography and culture of the various Spanish speaking countries around the world.  Students will have two hours of homework and three hours of class time each week to receive credit for the class.  Assessments will be given periodically.  All work must be completed.

We will be using the textbook:  Realidades 1 (Prentice Hall) and the accompanying Realidades 1 Practice Workbook.  These materials must be purchased separately.  They are not included in the class fee or the materials fee.

Homework
Students in this class can expect between 2 to 3 hours of homework per week. I have a range because it will depend on the work pace of the individual student as well as if there is a project to complete or an exam to study for. This is a high school credit course. In order to receive credit, homework hours will need to be documented and turned in monthly.
