Course Description

This college prep course will make math come alive with its many intriguing examples of Geometry in the world around you, from archeological digs to the Pyramid of Kukulcan to distance running!  How far must a climber descend to reach the bottom of a cliff? What are the distances between objects at an underwater archaeological site? We’ll be answering these questions and more in this class by using midpoint and distance formulas, measuring and classifying angles, and finding perimeter, circumference, and area.

Students will be required to complete regular homework assignments, tests, and a final to succeed in this course. Parent involvement only requires monitoring homework and tests at home. Mrs. Strickler will provide all instruction, free, weekly tutoring, homework help, test grading, and semester grades for this course. We will make math come alive! Through games, class projects, and other enrichment, your student will be motivated to work hard and succeed, engaging all kinds of learners.  I never want to be bored, so I do my best to not let your student get bored either!!  We will even have a Pi Day celebration with food, an art project, and a Pi scavenger hunt!!
