Join us in a joyful exploration in Algebra 1! This class builds on foundational knowledge acquired in Math 8, while applying new concepts to the real world. Some topics covered in this class include: Real Numbers, Linear Equations, Functions and Linear Inequalities, Solving Equations and Inequalities, Solving Applied Word Problems, and Graphing. Class participation is encouraged and real world application is discussed. Evaluation procedures will include, but are not limited to weekly homework, tests, and a final examination.
Mrs. Owen provides all lectures and grading for this class. She also provides free weekly office hours both in person and online for those students who need extra help. After successful completion of this course, students will have the necessary skills to study topics in Algebra 2 and Geometry.
Tuition: $508 per semester and $10 materials fee.
Charters: I am currently a vendor with Scale and Inspire and am in the process of becoming a vendor with iLead and Excel. If your student is with another charter, please let me know as I am happy to apply to become a vendor. This is an A-G approved class.
Materials: McDougall-Littel Algebra 1 textbook, copyright 2007. This curriculum is pre-Common Core. You can purchase this on Amazon, used, and you can choose a book from ANY state, it just must be copyrighted 2007. It has a red binder with a kayaker on it.
