First Lego League Fall Semester
Team members will investigate and explore robotics using hands-on, interactive activities, and project-based learning to develop, design, engineer, program, and test the team robot, which includes real-world problem solving to create and develop the team’s First Lego League Challenge Robot. Every Child will learn to program their robot! Students will also learn and implement core value skills, gracious professionalism –respect for team member’s ideas— learn team collaboration, and verbal communication skills through their team presentations. We will also have coaches from Team Orange helping out each week!
Kids will prepare them to learn to improvise on the spot! FLL will also include a project where kids will solve a real world problem and present their solutions.
FLL TEAM MEMBERS MUST MAKE ALL DECISIONS, DO ALL THE WORK FOR THE ROBOT GAME, AND CHALLENGE PROJECT
PARENTS WILL NEED TO BE INVOLVED AND HELP OUT
TEAM MEMBERS WILL NEED TO FOLLOW RULES, PARTICIPATE, AND DEMONSTRATE CORE VALUES TO REMAIN ON THE TEAM
Tuition: $480/ 18 weeks MEETS TWICE A WEEK
up to $100 Material fee for LEGO Land if we make it and shirts
Dates- First Semester plus 2 bonus week in August
- All team challenge materials & equipment, use of loaner team robot during team activities coaching fee (includes ILA fee).
- Does NOT include: computer, travel expenses, transportation, team t-shirts, competition costs, or other FLL memorabilia, Lego Land admission
Grade(s): 4-8, Day/Time: Mondays and Wednedays from 4:00-5:30
- Team meeting may extend to 6:30 as needed during team preparation for challenge competition or we may have a Saturday Practice
Team will be limited to 12 students
