This World Cuisine Cooking Class will expose students to culture and cuisines from around the world. It will cover recipes and dishes that have become known as “world cuisine” – a fusion of ingredients, spices, customs, and techniques from around the world that have come together to create delectable dishes. This class will encourage students to expand their taste buds, learn about exotic ingredients and flavors and become more adventurous with food. Students will learn about “Fusion” cuisine and how native ingredients from each country have inspired new food traditions and flavors around the world. This class will also teach about healthy alternatives for favorite recipes and encourage not only delicious, but healthy cooking along the way. Best of all, students will dine on their own creations and work towards developing strong cooking skills, which translates to an essential life skill.
Students that have taken the International Cuisine Class are encouraged to continue in this class as they will create new recipes, continue to hone their cooking skills, and discover new ingredients, cooking techniques and dishes that were not covered in previous semesters.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL STUDENTS IN TIHS CLASS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK OR FACE SHIELD DURING CLASS FOR SAFETY AND SANITATION PRE-CAUTIONS DURING THE PANDEMIC. YOUR UNDERSTANDING IS APPRECIATED.
